Terrific Tuesdays
GROW Nebraska offers Terrific Tuesday sales every Tuesday in our retail stores in Kearney and Grand Island. These sales offer a 10% discount on a group of products. The Terrific Tuesday sale for July 20 is engraved items. If you have an engraved item we encourage you to tell your friends on Facebook or Twitter and also to comment on our Terrific Tuesday blog on Facebook on the 20th.

GROW Nebraska will be posting a question on Facebook on Wednesday, July 21 on how we can improve the program and suggestions for how we can help Nebraska businesses. We encourage all of our members to go on and place comments to help start the discussion.

Did you know GROW Nebraska has a cooperative ad they do every year with NTV? This is the 2010 commercial that runs during their "Good Life" segment. If you are interested in being a part of the 2011 video please e-mail us at

Fabulous Friends: A Little Help from Everyone Can GROW Nebraska
GROW Nebraska is launching their Fabulous Friends Campaign, searching for 1000 people to donate just $10 each who believe in GROW Nebraska and Nebraska businesses and entrepreneurs. So far, GROW Nebraska has had nearly 150 donations. Donating just $10 puts your name on our "
Partners and Donators" web site page. You can become part of the
GROW Nebraska Cause and track our progress in this quest. Donating is easy. You can donate through the

web site, or by mailing in your donation to the GROW Nebraska headquarters in Holbrook.

Sign Up for the State Fair General Store
Have Your Product In the State Fair Store
Before we know it the State Fair will be upon us. Do you want your product in the store? If so, please sign up today! Prices are no charge for 2010 bundle members, $30 for members who work at least one 6 our shift, $50 for members who do not work, and $150 if GROW has to take down, haul and pack your product. This year's State Fair store is in Grand Island from August 27 through September 6. The store hours are 9am-9pm.
GROW will also be offering some training. Please let us know on the sign up form which topic(s) you like best.

Workshops at Southeast Community College
SCORE is having two workshops at SCC.
"What's Involved in Starting a Small Business?" - Topics include advantages and disadvantages of business ownership; need for a detailed business plan; purpose and importance of market research; general record keeping requirements (including financial reports needed in a business plan); overview of legal structures for small business; general types of financing, including what a lender will want to know; and business insurance considerations.

"Practical Accounting Plus Practical QuickBooks Start-Up"
- Practical Accounting presented over 5 to 6 hours will give you the accounting basics toward a better understanding of both accounting systems and financial statements. Followed by 2 to 3 hours of Practical QuickBooks which will give participants the basics necessary to set up your accounting information for an easier QuickBooks Start-Up.
